Pakistan junior tennis player Abubakar Talha has arrived in Yokkaichi, Japan, accompanied by his coach Shahzad Khan, to participate in the Dunlop Road to the Australian Open Juniors 2027 tournament.

The international junior competition is scheduled to take place from November 8 to 12.

The event is co-organised by Dunlop, the official ball partner of the Australian Open, alongside the Japan Tennis Association and Tennis Australia.

Young players competing in the tournament have the opportunity to earn a place at a major international junior championship.

The singles winner in each event will receive a main draw singles wildcard for the Australian Open Junior Championships 2027, securing a direct pathway to the Grand Slam stage.

Pakistan Tennis Federation President Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi, Secretary General Col. (R) Zia-ud-Din Tufail, and the entire federation management extended their best wishes to Talha and his coach for the upcoming matches.

The Pakistan Tennis Federation leadership expressed full confidence in Talha's abilities and stated their hope that he would deliver an impressive performance while representing Pakistan on the international circuit.

Qureshi expressed sincere appreciation and gratitude to the Embassy of Japan in Pakistan and the Ambassador of Japan for facilitating the visa process within a very limited timeframe.

The Pakistan Tennis Federation President also acknowledged the Bard Foundation for sponsoring the trip, alongside the ACE Tennis Academy Pakistan for their support, encouragement, and continued commitment to the development of junior tennis in the country.

Talha will begin his campaign when the tournament commences on November 8, with matches running through November 12 in Japan.
