Bilibili Gaming eliminate Hanwha Life Esports at Worlds 2026

Bilibili Gaming secure a quarterfinal berth as Hanwha Life Esports exit the Swiss Stage.

Bilibili Gaming eliminate Hanwha Life Esports at Worlds 2026

Bilibili Gaming secured their place in the Worlds 2026 quarterfinals on the final day of the Swiss Stage following a hard-fought victory over Hanwha Life Esports. The elimination marks a premature exit for the star-studded roster, who fell short in the closing round of matches.

The decisive series saw Bilibili prevail after a tense opening game that stretched past the 40-minute mark. Despite Hanwha Life holding a slight advantage for much of the contest, the Chinese organization orchestrated a crucial turnaround to draw first blood in the encounter.

Park "Viper" Do-hyeon delivered a standout performance for Hanwha Life on his signature Ezreal, keeping his side competitive throughout the early and mid-game skirmishes. However, Bilibili's resilience eventually cracked the defense, swinging the momentum decisively in their favor before the closing stages.

The second game proved far more one-sided as Zhuo "Knight" Ding and Chen "Bin" Ze-bin took complete control of the map. Operating on Locke and Olaf respectively, the duo exerted relentless pressure to dismantle the Hanwha Life setup well before opposing power spikes could materialize.

The elimination brings a disappointing end to Hanwha Life's campaign in their current lineup iteration, which included high-profile off-season acquisitions. Despite a challenging Swiss Stage draw that pitted them against several elite opponents in succession, the early exit caught many observers by surprise.

In other fixtures on the final day of the Swiss Stage, Karmine Corp secured a historic quarterfinal berth in their first-ever Worlds appearance. The European debutants overcame Movistar KOI in a tense domestic showdown to advance to the knockout rounds.

The opening game of that series saw Movistar KOI hold the lead for extended periods before Caliste "Caliste" Henry-Hennebert turned the tide on Ashe. Karmine Corp then sealed the series with a dominant second game spearheaded by Martin "Yike" Sundelin on Pantheon.

Meanwhile, LYON completed a dramatic comeback against LØS to punch their own ticket to the quarterfinals. The decisive encounter witnessed LYON recover from a substantial gold deficit in the final game to overturn the scoreline and eliminate their opponents.

Following the conclusion of the Swiss stage matches, the bracket draw for the quarterfinals was finalized. The upcoming knockout phase is set to commence with an all-LPL clash between Top Esports and Invictus Gaming.

Gen.G will subsequently face LYON on Wednesday, while Dplus KIA are scheduled to take on Bilibili Gaming on Thursday. The quarterfinal slate concludes on Friday as Karmine Corp go head-to-head against T1 in front of the live audience.
