New England Patriots running back TreVeyon Henderson has revealed he is recovering from a series of unexplained neurological symptoms that required several days of hospitalization. The 24-year-old confirmed his condition in a statement released on Friday.
Henderson, who has been sidelined since being added to the injury report on October 29, stated that while medical tests have returned positive and reassuring results, the underlying cause of the emergency remains unknown.
The running back missed the Patriots' victory over the Miami Dolphins last weekend and has not participated in team practice sessions this week. He is expected to remain unavailable for the upcoming game against the Green Bay Packers.
"Recently, I experienced an unexpected and unusual medical emergency involving a series of unexplained neurological symptoms that required hospitalisation for several days," Henderson said. He added that he is working with specialists to address issues regarding his strength and coordination.
The player expressed gratitude for the support received from his family, the Patriots organization, and his medical team. He emphasized that his long-term health and well-being are his primary focus as he undergoes physical therapy.
In six appearances for the Patriots this season, Henderson has recorded 203 rushing yards on 52 carries with one touchdown. He also contributed 45 yards on five receptions before the onset of his illness.
A second-round draft pick in 2025 out of Ohio State, Henderson enjoyed a productive rookie campaign where he played in every regular-season game, totaling 911 rushing yards and nine touchdowns.
The Patriots continue their season this Sunday against the Green Bay Packers, where they will be without the services of their starting running back as he continues his recovery process.
