Australia have unveiled their squads for the upcoming home white-ball series against England, opting to rest several senior players to prioritize preparations for the upcoming ICC World Test Championship assignments against New Zealand and India.

The eight-match series, consisting of three ODIs and five T20Is, begins on 13 November in Perth. Experienced pace trio Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood have been omitted from both squads to manage their workloads ahead of the Test season.

The ODI squad features several emerging talents, including former ICC Men's Under-19 Cricket World Cup stars Mahli Beardman and Oliver Peake. All-rounders Jack Edwards and Liam Scott have also been included in the 14-player ODI setup.

For the T20I component, the selectors have introduced a fresh group of players, including Nikhil Chaudhary, Joel Davies, Lachlan Shaw and Sam Harper. Nathan Ellis, who is recovering from a side strain, joins the T20I squad after missing the ODIs.

Several Test regulars, including Travis Head, Cameron Green and Alex Carey, will feature in the ODI series but will be unavailable for the T20I matches. Mitchell Marsh will continue to lead the side across both formats.

Australia selection chair George Bailey stated that the series offers a vital opportunity for younger players to prove themselves against high-quality opposition. He noted that the squad balance reflects a focus on long-term development.

Bailey highlighted the inclusion of Liam Scott and Mahli Beardman, citing their recent performances for Australia A as a key factor in their selection. He expressed confidence in the squad's ability to adapt to the international stage.

The series is set to provide a rigorous test for the new faces, with the T20I squad also seeing the return of power-hitters Jake Fraser-McGurk and Mitch Owen. The selectors believe their ball-striking ability will be a major asset.

The ODI series commences on 13 November in Perth, followed by matches in Adelaide and Hobart. The T20I series begins on 21 November in Melbourne, with subsequent games in Gold Coast, Brisbane, Sydney and Canberra.
