The International Cricket Council has announced the three nominees for the Women's Player of the Month award for October, featuring top performers from India, Bangladesh, and Australia. The shortlist highlights individual brilliance across both ODI and T20I formats during a busy month of international cricket.
India all-rounder Deepti Sharma earned her nomination after a prolific series against Zimbabwe. The 29-year-old recorded her second ODI century in Vadodara, where she also claimed three wickets to lead India to a 121-run victory and a series win.
Deepti's contributions extended to the T20I format, where she struck a rapid 49 in the series opener in Raipur. Her consistent ability to impact games with both bat and ball throughout the month proved central to India's successful campaign against the African side.
Bangladesh batter Sobhana Mostary is also in contention after making history during the tour of Australia. Mostary scored 118 runs from 134 deliveries in Brisbane, setting a new record for the highest individual ODI score by a Bangladesh women's player.
Despite the series result, Mostary's performance was a highlight of the tour, as she accumulated 129 runs at an average of 43 across three ODIs. Her innings featured 18 boundaries, demonstrating her ability to perform against a high-quality bowling attack.
Australia's Annabel Sutherland completes the shortlist following a dominant month against both Bangladesh and New Zealand. The 25-year-old all-rounder delivered a standout performance in the ODI series opener against Bangladesh, taking four wickets and scoring an unbeaten 25.
Sutherland continued her form in the series finale with an unbeaten 74 and two wickets. She also contributed in the T20I series against New Zealand, concluding a productive month with a total of 99 runs and six wickets in the 50-over format.
The ICC will determine the winner based on voting, with the award recognizing the most impactful performances on the international stage. These players have set a high benchmark for their respective teams heading into the upcoming international schedule.
For Pakistan, the recognition of these players serves as a reminder of the competitive standards in women's cricket. As Pakistan continues to develop its squad, monitoring the form of global stars like Deepti and Sutherland remains essential for tactical planning in future bilateral series.
