Pauls is currently aiming for a ring return in early December, with potential dates being evaluated to ensure he remains active ahead of major scheduled commitments early next year. The cancellation forces the Cornish boxer to adjust his calendar significantly as he works behind the scenes with his promotional team to finalize a new opponent and venue.

Reflecting on the unexpected disruption, Pauls did not hide his frustration regarding the lost opportunity on November 13. Speaking on social media, the experienced middleweight admitted that the cancellation was far from ideal for his career trajectory at this crucial stage of his professional journey.

Expressing his immediate mindset, Pauls stated that he and his team are scrambling to find a new date before the Christmas holidays. He indicated that discussions are underway for a bout arriving a couple of weeks into December, with a formal announcement expected to be made public soon.

Maintaining activity is a central priority for Pauls as he eyes a major return to the big stage in February. The 33-year-old emphasized that getting through a competitive test before the turn of the year is massively important for his overall preparation and confidence inside the ring.

The veteran fighter wants to afford himself every possible advantage ahead of the lucrative and high-profile matchups lined up for the early months of next year. Staying sharp and avoiding prolonged inactivity are critical components of his training philosophy as he navigates this latest professional crossroads in his career.

Pauls enters this transitional phase following a demanding stretch of fights that have tested his resilience at both the domestic and international levels. His professional record currently stands at 25 fights, featuring three defeats and one draw, highlighting a career built on tough challenges and high-stakes encounters.

In his most recent outing back in June, Pauls suffered a defeat to Bradley Goldsmith while contesting the vacant IBF International middleweight title. That competitive loss marked only the third blemish on his professional ledger and served as a temporary stumbling block in his upward trajectory.

Prior to the Goldsmith encounter, Pauls enjoyed a notable high point in March when he delivered a stunning stoppage victory against the highly rated Shakiel Thompson. That emphatic knockout win immediately reignited conversations regarding his world title aspirations and cemented his status as a premier domestic operator.

The journey to domestic prominence saw Pauls capture the coveted British middleweight title in July 2024 with a stoppage win over Nathan Heaney in their highly anticipated rematch. That victory provided sweet redemption after the pair had fought to a hard-fought draw four months prior.

Following his British title triumph, Pauls stepped up in class in December 2024 to challenge Denzel Bentley for the European middleweight crown. Although he came up short in that European championship bid, the experience added vital championship rounds to his extensive tactical résumé.

Activity levels fluctuated during the subsequent period, with Pauls appearing on a low-key card in Torquay before re-establishing himself on major television platforms against Thompson. Those varied experiences have taught the Newquay native the value of persistence within the unforgiving professional boxing landscape.

Cornish boxing history also records Pauls' achievements fondly, as he famously became the first fighter from Cornwall to capture a British title since 1939 when he defeated Heaney. That milestone remains a proud chapter in his sporting life and a testament to his dedication.

The middleweight division continues to evolve rapidly with domestic and international contenders jostling for position across various promotional banners. Pauls remains firmly fixed on forcing his way back into championship contention through determined performances and victories against tough opposition.

As the boxing calendar moves toward the final months of the year, fighters frequently encounter shifting schedules and promotional adjustments. Pauls' ability to secure a viable December opponent will dictate how smoothly he transitions into his planned February campaign.

Boxing fans and pundits will await official confirmation from Pauls regarding his rescheduled December appearance. The coming weeks will reveal whether the former champion can successfully salvage his late-year schedule and set the stage for a busy campaign ahead.

The setback in June against Bradley Goldsmith demonstrated the fine margins operating at the top level of the sport. Pauls has proven throughout his career that he possesses the resilience to bounce back from adversity and return stronger in subsequent outings.

His spectacular knockout of Shakiel Thompson earlier in the year remains a benchmark for the kind of explosive performances he aims to deliver regularly. Replicating that kind of form in December will send a clear message to the rest of the 160-pound division.

Promotional discussions are expected to yield clarity regarding the new December date in the near future. Pauls remains fully committed to his training camp routine in Cornwall, ensuring he stays in peak physical condition while waiting for the rescheduled fight announcement.

With a potentially massive year of boxing ahead in 2027, the coming weeks represent a crucial building block for the veteran middleweight. Securing a win before Christmas will provide the ideal springboard for his ambitious plans in the new year.

The 29-year-old fighter has spent the months following his first career loss reflecting on the demanding journey home from Australia in June, where he fell short in his maiden defence of the IBF welterweight championship title.

Despite mounting a furious and late-stage surge during the championship bout in Brisbane, Crocker ultimately saw the judges score the contest 115-113 in favour of his opponent, allowing the Australian contender to achieve his aspiration of becoming a two-weight world champion.

Crocker had successfully grown into the rhythm of the grueling fight and appeared on the verge of securing a stoppage in the closing rounds, yet Paro managed to weather the storm and hold on until the final bell sounded to claim the victory.

The defeat brought an end to Crocker's undefeated run, pushing his professional record back to 22 victories alongside the single blemish, while also bringing a premature halt to his reign as the division's champion.

The Belfast native had initially captured the prestigious IBF belt the previous September in his home city, putting on a memorable display at Windsor Park where he secured victory against his domestic rival Paddy Donovan.

Reflecting on that heartbreaking night in Queensland, the boxer candidly admitted that the result was a classic case of what might have been, though the close margins have only served to stoke his competitive fires.

Crocker noted that walking away with a defeat via a very narrow decision against an established two-division world title holder provided him with invaluable lessons that will serve him well as his career progresses.

At 29 years of age, the contender firmly believes he retains plenty of time and physical capability to pursue future opportunities and recapture his lost status at the summit of the welterweight division.

The fighter expressed frustration regarding the closely contested nature of the bout, pointing out that several crucial moments saw his opponent resorting to holding on when hurt, which he believes changed the complexion of the scorecards.

According to Crocker, had the referee chosen to dock his opponent a point for persistent holding during those critical exchanges, the final outcome of the championship encounter could easily have swung in his favour.

Nevertheless, the sportsman has decisively put the disappointment of Brisbane behind him, recognising that he remains right in the mix among the world's elite fighters competing at the 147-pound limit.

His primary ambition moving forward is entirely centred on claiming world championship honours for a second time, starting with the next immediate challenge on his professional schedule.

That next chapter in his quest for redemption is scheduled for 19 December at The O2 in Belfast, where he will step through the ropes to face the former English champion Owen Cooper.

Cooper enters the upcoming contest holding a professional record of 12 wins and two defeats, and the 26-year-old will undoubtedly view this high-profile matchup as the ultimate career-defining opportunity.

The bout will form part of a stacked card supporting the headline world super-featherweight title clash between Anthony Cacace and Nick Ball, creating a massive night of boxing for local fans.

The scheduling of the event provides further indication that the traditional promotional barriers within British boxing are beginning to dissolve, as Matchroom-promoted Crocker prepares to feature on a Queensberry Promotions card.

Delighted to be performing once again in front of his loyal home supporters in Northern Ireland, Crocker has promised to deliver a memorable performance that he has playfully dubbed a Christmas Crocker.

While missing out on a home defence for his first world title run and instead travelling over 10,000 miles to the east coast of Australia could have generated resentment, the boxer maintains a remarkably pragmatic viewpoint.

Crocker insisted that the chance to travel overseas and defend a world championship belt on foreign soil represents the kind of scenario every youngster dreams about when first lacing up a pair of gloves.

Now safely back on home turf, his immediate focus is firmly locked on the upcoming test against Cooper, refusing to look too far ahead into potential matchups that might materialise further down the line in 2027.

Acknowledging the danger posed by his younger opponent, Crocker stressed that he is treating the encounter with the utmost seriousness, anticipating a fiercely competitive battle against a skilled operator.

While a homecoming defence in Belfast would have been special, the fighter noted that once the first bell rings, the external circumstances fade away, leaving simply two athletes determined to secure victory.

Beyond his upcoming December assignment, the wider welterweight landscape offers plenty of intriguing possibilities, with his old rival Paddy Donovan currently positioned at the front of the queue to challenge Paro.

The 147-pound division has experienced a major resurgence recently, featuring some of the sport's most recognisable global names holding the remaining major sanctioning body belts across the weight class.

Those prominent champions include Ryan Garcia holding the WBC strap, Teofimo Lopez reigning with the WBA, and Devin Haney in possession of the WBO title, creating a lucrative landscape for ambitious contenders.

Crocker has made it clear that he would welcome a second opportunity to fight for a world title at Windsor Park, the iconic venue where he previously secured his breakthrough victory against Donovan.

Ultimately, the determined Belfast puncher remains entirely unconcerned about the specific name or geographical location of his next major championship opportunity, so long as it leads him back to the top.

With four major world championships active within the division, Crocker is eager to chase down any of them once he clears the hurdle presented by Cooper in December.

The immediate task involves getting his career firmly back on track on home ground before mounting a sustained assault on the world elite during the next phase of his boxing journey.
