Pakistan and Sri Lanka open three-match T20I series in Rawalpindi

Pakistan begin a busy home season tonight when they meet Sri Lanka in the first of three T20 internationals at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. The second and third matches are at the same ground on 11 and 13 October.

Reports before the series said Sahibzada Farhan, who led the side at the Asian Games, was the likely captain. The same reports pointed to returns for Babar Azam, Naseem Shah, Fakhar Zaman and Shadab Khan, alongside several players from the Asian Games squad.

The T20Is lead into an ODI tri-series between Pakistan, England and Sri Lanka. Six round-robin matches are scheduled in Rawalpindi and Lahore from 18 October, with the final at Gaddafi Stadium on 31 October.

Pakistan then play two Tests in November, in Rawalpindi from 9 to 13 November and in Lahore from 17 to 21 November.
