The Pakistan Cricket Board has appointed Shane Deitz as the new head coach of the Pakistan women's cricket team. The Australian, who previously served as the head coach for the West Indies women's side, will take charge of the squad immediately.

Deitz brings significant experience to the role, having worked extensively in international women's cricket. His appointment is part of the board's ongoing efforts to strengthen the technical staff and improve the performance of the national women's team on the global stage.

The former wicketkeeper-batter has previously held coaching positions in various leagues and domestic setups. His tenure with the West Indies women's team provided him with exposure to high-pressure international environments, which the board expects will benefit the Pakistan players.

The Pakistan women's team has been looking to refine its tactical approach and consistency in recent series. Deitz is expected to focus on developing the core group of players while implementing a modern, aggressive style of cricket across all formats.

The board confirmed that Deitz will oversee the team's training camps and lead the coaching staff during upcoming bilateral series and major ICC events. His primary objective is to elevate the team's standing in the ICC Women's Championship rankings.

For Pakistan, this appointment marks a strategic shift in leadership as the team prepares for a busy international calendar. The board aims to provide the players with the best possible guidance to compete against top-tier nations in the coming years.
